Privacy policy
We collect the bare minimum, we sell nothing, and you stay in control of your data. This policy applies Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Portuguese Law No. 58/2019 of 8 August and French Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 on Data Protection (“Informatique et Libertés”).

Our activity does not require us to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO). The contact above handles all requests.
2. What data, why, and for how long
3. Third-party services
WhatsApp. The website contains a link to our WhatsApp group, operated by WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. (Meta). When you join, your profile name and phone number are visible to other members. This data is processed under WhatsApp’s policy. You can leave the group whenever you like.
LinkedIn. Links to our LinkedIn page take you to LinkedIn Ireland, which applies its own policy. The website includes no LinkedIn share button or tracker.
Fonts. The website’s fonts are hosted directly on our servers: no data is sent to a third-party service to display them.
Service providers. Hosting: Cloudflare, Inc. Domain name: Squarespace Domains. Newsletter delivery: Mailchimp (Intuit) and Brevo. They act as processors (Art. 28 GDPR), solely on our instructions.
4. Who has access to your data
Only the volunteer board members of the association who need it, and our technical providers. For a co-organised event, the list of registrants may be shared with the partner concerned; we will tell you so when you register. We never sell or rent your data.
5. Transfers outside the European Union
Some providers (Cloudflare, Mailchimp, Meetup, Eventbrite, Luma, Meta, LinkedIn) may process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Arts. 45 and 46 GDPR).
6. Cookies
The website uses no advertising cookies. Strictly necessary technical storage only remembers your cookie choice: it is exempt from consent. The cookie banner also lets you allow or refuse two optional categories: audience measurement (anonymous visit statistics) and external content (LinkedIn content, videos and fonts hosted by third parties). These tools are only activated with your prior consent, in accordance with Portuguese Law No. 41/2004 and Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act. To date, none of them is installed on the website. You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page; it is kept for 6 months.
7. Security
Website served over HTTPS, access to tools restricted and password-protected, providers based in the EU wherever possible. In the event of a data breach posing a risk, we notify the CNPD within 72 hours and, where necessary, the people concerned (Arts. 33 and 34 GDPR).
8. Minors
Our services are intended for adults. Newsletter sign-up is not open to under-13s in Portugal (Art. 16 of Law No. 58/2019) or under-15s in France (Art. 45 of the French Data Protection Act) without a parent’s consent.

Administrators may remove a message or exclude a member who does not follow these rules.
3. Events
Registration takes place on Meetup, Luma or Eventbrite, depending on the event; each platform applies its own terms. If you can no longer attend, let us know so we can free up your spot. Photos and videos may be taken: you can ask not to be photographed on site, or have an image removed afterwards. We reserve the right to change or cancel an event, informing registrants as early as possible.
4. Intellectual property
The “La French Tech” brand and logo belong to the French State and are used under the French Tech Community label. The website’s texts, photos and videos belong to La French Tech Lisbon or to their authors (photos: Olivier Perrin). Partner logos remain the property of their owners. Any reproduction without permission is prohibited.
5. Links and liability
The website links to external services (WhatsApp, LinkedIn, registration platforms) whose content we do not control. We do our best to keep information accurate and up to date, without being able to guarantee it at all times. Exchanges between members are the sole responsibility of their authors.
6. Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. In the event of a dispute, we first seek an amicable solution; failing that, the courts of Lisbon have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the protective rules of your country of residence. We may update these terms: the date of the latest update appears at the top of the page.
